What are Advanced Placement (AP) Classes?

AP courses are rigorous, college-level classes in a variety of subjects that give students an opportunity to

gain the skills and experience colleges recognize and for which they grant credit it students pass the AP

      test(s).

   What is a Pre-AP Class?

Pre-AP classes are a fairly new term for classes that are meant to prepare high school students for

AP classes (college-level classes taken in high school) as well as college classes themselves.   Pre-AP

classes are typically taken by high school freshman, but some courses are also meant for sophomores.

However, any student who meets the requirements may take the class regardless of grade level.

What is a Pre-AP Prep class?

The Learnatory does not wait untl middle school to offer Pre-AP Prep classes for students in grades 6

through 8.  They are intended to ensure middle school students build a solid foundation to prepare

to take Pre-AP classes by their freshman or sophomore year.

Students must meet certain math and reading test requirements to be accepted into the Pre-AP and

        Pre-AP Prep classes.

Pre-AP Prep classes are designed by The Learnatory for the expressed purpose of giving students a

jump-start on the new Pre-AP requirements and preparation for high school AP classes.

Those students not qualifying for Pre-AP or Pre-AP Prep classes in math may take the Individualized

Instructional Math classes at The Learnatory.  These small classes provide personalized support based

upon the Assessments and Math Diagnostics.
